As you approach Pottuvil, look for signs directing you to Muhudu Maha Viharaya. The temple is located near the coast in Hidayapuram, just off the A4 road. There is parking available near the temple.

From Ampara town, you can take a bus heading towards Pottuvil. Buses regularly depart from the main bus station in Ampara. The fare is typically around 100 LKR (Sri Lankan Rupees). The journey will take about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Pottuvil, you can either walk to Muhudu Maha Viharaya, which is approximately 2 kilometers away, or take a tuk-tuk for a small fee (around 200 LKR).
