Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from anywhere in Ampara District, head north on the A4 road. Continue along the A4 for approximately 45 kilometers until you reach Batticaloa. As you approach the city, look for signs indicating Kallady. Turn left onto the B299 road, which will lead you towards Kallady. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers, and you will see the Old Kallady Bridge on your right. There is parking available near the bridge.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from Ampara to Batticaloa at the local bus station. Buses run frequently, and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Batticaloa bus station, look for buses heading to Kallady or you can take a tuk-tuk directly to the Old Kallady Bridge. The tuk-tuk ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes and should cost around 300-500 LKR.

• Tuk-Tuk (Local Transport)

  If you are already in Batticaloa city, hiring a tuk-tuk is a convenient option. Simply ask a local for a tuk-tuk to Old Kallady Bridge, which is a well-known landmark. The ride should cost around 200-300 LKR and take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic.
