Car
If you are driving from Anuradhapura town, head southwest on the A9 road. Continue on this road for about 30 kilometers. You'll reach a junction where you need to turn left onto the R896 road. Follow the R896 for approximately 10 kilometers until you see signs for Yapahuwa Rock Fortress. The entrance is well-marked, and you will need to park in the designated parking area before walking up to the fortress.

Public Transportation
From Anuradhapura, take a bus from the main bus station heading towards Maho. The journey takes about 1 hour and costs around 100 LKR. Once you arrive in Maho, you will need to hire a tuk-tuk or walk approximately 3 kilometers to reach Yapahuwa Rock Fortress. Tuk-tuks usually charge around 300-400 LKR for the short ride.

If you are already in Maho, you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you directly to the Yapahuwa Rock Fortress. It is a short distance of about 3 kilometers. Negotiating the fare beforehand is recommended, and the cost should be around 300 LKR. The tuk-tuk will drop you off at the entrance, where you can begin your climb to the fortress.
