Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Anuradhapura Railway Station. Exit the station and head southeast on Station Road towards the city center. After about 500 meters, you will reach the junction with Maithripala Senanayake Mawatha. Turn left onto Maithripala Senanayake Mawatha and continue straight for approximately 1 kilometer until you come to the intersection with Lankarama Road. Turn right onto Lankarama Road, and Lankaramaya will be approximately 300 meters ahead on your left.

  • Bicycle

    If you have a rented bicycle, start from the Anuradhapura city center near the Ruwanwelisaya Stupa. Ride north on the main road (Ruwanweli Seya Road) for about 600 meters until you reach the junction with Maithripala Senanayake Mawatha. Turn left and cycle for about 1 kilometer. When you reach the intersection with Lankarama Road, turn right. Lankaramaya will be approximately 300 meters ahead on your left.

    From the city center, you can hire a tuk-tuk to Lankaramaya. Simply tell the driver 'Lankaramaya' or 'Lankarama Dagoba'. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you directly to Lankaramaya, dropping you off right in front of the entrance.
