Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Anuradhapura Railway Station, exit the station and turn left onto Station Road. Walk straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the main junction at the clock tower. From there, turn right onto the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi Road. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with Dharmapala Mawatha. Turn left onto Dharmapala Mawatha, and after about 400 meters, you will find the Nuwarawewa bund viewpoint on your right, located at 87/34 Dharmapala Mawatha.

  • Walking

    If you are at the Anuradhapura archaeological museum, exit the museum and head north towards the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi. After visiting the Bodhi tree, continue along the path that leads you towards the Nuwarawewa bund. Follow the signs for the bund viewpoint. It will take you about 20 minutes to walk there. You’ll be walking along Dharmapala Mawatha, where the viewpoint is situated at 87/34.
