Bus
From Anuradhapura town, head to the main bus station located on Station Road. Look for buses heading to 'Mahawilachchiya' or 'Habarana'. These buses usually leave every 30 minutes. The journey takes around 30-45 minutes. Inform the conductor that you are getting off at Rajanganaya Tank. The bus will drop you off near the tank entrance.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Anuradhapura. Head out of the town towards the A9 highway. Cycle north along the A9 for about 10 kilometers, then look for a sign indicating the turnoff for Rajanganaya. After turning off, follow the smaller road for about 3 kilometers until you reach the tank. The ride will take approximately 1-1.5 hours depending on your cycling speed.

If you prefer to walk, start from the Anuradhapura Archaeological Museum located in the city center. Walk towards the A9 highway and head north. The distance is about 13 kilometers, so prepare for a leisurely walk that may take around 3-4 hours. Follow the same directions as for cycling once you reach the A9, and look for signs indicating Rajanganaya Tank.
