Car
If you're traveling by car within the Dry Zone, start from Anuradhapura, which is a central hub. Take the A9 highway heading south. After approximately 25 km, take the exit towards the A12 road towards Trincomalee. Continue on the A12 for about 50 km until you reach the town of Mihintale. From Mihintale, follow local roads heading towards Neelabemma, which is about 15 km away. Look for signs for Neelabemma Project as you approach. Ensure to have a GPS or map app handy for the last few kilometers, as local roads may not be well-marked.
Public Transportation
From Anuradhapura, take a bus heading towards Mihintale. Buses run frequently and the fare is around 50 LKR. Once you reach Mihintale, you can either hire a tuk-tuk or catch a local bus that heads towards Neelabemma. The tuk-tuk ride should cost approximately 300 LKR. If you choose to wait for a local bus, ensure you ask locals for the correct bus, as schedules may not be posted clearly. The bus ride will take around 20-30 minutes.

If you're already in Mihintale, hiring a tuk-tuk to Neelabemma is a convenient option. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should be around 300 LKR. The ride will take about 20 minutes. Make sure to show the driver a local map or mention 'Neelabemma Project' to ensure they understand your destination.
