Getting There
Tuk-tuk
If you are in Bentota, you can easily find a tuk-tuk by going to any main road or street. Just wave at one passing by or ask your hotel to call one for you. Inform the driver that you want to go to Hikkaduwa Beach. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you along the A2 road, which is a straight route to Hikkaduwa. You will pass through towns and local shops on the way, and the beach will be on your left when you arrive.
Bus
To reach Hikkaduwa Beach by bus, head to the Bentota bus station located near the town center. Look for buses heading towards Galle or Hikkaduwa. The fare is quite cheap, usually around 30 LKR. The bus ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Make sure to inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Hikkaduwa Beach. The bus will drop you off near the main entrance to the beach area.
Bicycle rental
For an adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle. There are several rental shops in Bentota, especially along the beach road. Rent a bicycle and head towards the A2 road. It's approximately a 10 km ride to Hikkaduwa Beach, which will take around 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your pace. The ride is scenic, and you can stop along the way to enjoy the views. Follow the road signs to Hikkaduwa, and you'll find the beach once you reach the town.
