Getting There

  • Train

    From Bentota, walk to the Bentota Railway Station, which is about 1 km north along the A2 road. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Kalutara South station. Trains run frequently, so check the schedule for the next train. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Kalutara South, exit the station and head south towards the beach, which is about a 15-minute walk. Follow the main road south until you reach the coast, then turn right to reach Kalutara North Beach.

  • Tuk-Tuk

    If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Bentota. Just tell the driver you want to go to Kalutara North Beach. The trip will take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you directly to the beach, ensuring a hassle-free journey.

  • Bus

    From Bentota, make your way to the Bentota Bus Station. Look for buses heading towards Kalutara; these are usually labeled. Board the bus, which will take you to Kalutara in about 30-40 minutes.
