Experience Moonstone and Gem Palace

Getting There

  • Tuk-Tuk

    From any location in Bentota, you can easily find a tuk-tuk by waving one down on the street or asking your hotel to call one for you. Once in the tuk-tuk, tell the driver you want to go to 'Moonstone and Gem Palace' in Meetiyagoda. The driver should be familiar with the location. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. When you approach Meetiyagoda, look for the building located at 'Front of School, Kahawa - Batapola Rd'. It’s a simple two-story building and the entrance is easily visible.

  • Bus

    Head to the Bentota bus stand and take a bus heading towards Galle or Balapitiya. Make sure to ask the conductor to drop you off at 'Meetiyagoda'. The bus ride takes around 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Meetiyagoda, you can walk to 'Moonstone and Gem Palace'. It's a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Head south on the Kahawa - Batapola Rd, and you will find the palace on your right, directly in front of a school.

  • Bicycle

    If you feel adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Bentota. Start your journey by cycling along the coastal road towards Meetiyagoda. It’s approximately a 10 km ride, which may take around 40-50 minutes, depending on your pace. Follow the main road, and when you reach Meetiyagoda, look for 'Kahawa - Batapola Rd'. The 'Moonstone and Gem Palace' will be on your left, right in front of a school.
