Travel Guide to Moragalla Beach

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the central area of Bentota, start by heading towards the Bentota River. Walk to the main road that runs parallel to the river, which is called Galle Road (A2). From there, head south along Galle Road. You will pass several shops and restaurants. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers. As you approach Moragalla, you will see signs for Moragalla Beach. Look for the local landmarks like the Bentota Beach Hotel; it's a good point of reference. The beach access will be on your right, and you can walk directly onto Moragalla Beach.

• Tuk-Tuk

  For a quicker option, you can take a Tuk-Tuk from any location in Bentota. Just tell the driver 'Moragalla Beach' or point to it on a map if you have one. The ride should take about 5-10 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will drop you off near the beach entrance. From there, it's a short walk to the beach itself.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle in Bentota. Start from your rental location and make your way to Galle Road (A2). Cycle south along Galle Road for about 1.5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs leading to Moragalla Beach as you approach the area. There are typically bike racks available where you can park your bicycle near the beach.

• Public Bus

  If you want to experience local transportation, you can take a public bus from Bentota to Moragalla. Head to the Bentota bus station and look for a bus heading towards Galle. Inform the conductor to drop you off at Moragalla. The bus ride is usually around 10-15 minutes, and you will need to walk a short distance from the bus stop to the beach.
