If you are starting from the Bentota Railway Station, exit the station and head south along the main road (Galle Road). Walk for about 1.2 kilometers until you reach the Bentota River Bridge. Cross the bridge, and you will find yourself in the vicinity of Bentota Lake. The lake is located to your right. Follow the path along the lakefront for a scenic view.

For those renting a bicycle, start from your accommodation in Bentota and head towards Galle Road. Follow Galle Road south for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the Bentota River Bridge. After crossing the bridge, turn right onto the lakefront path and continue cycling along the edge of Bentota Lake until you find a suitable spot to stop and enjoy the views.

If you prefer a tuk-tuk, you can hail one from any point in Bentota. Simply tell the driver 'Bentota Lake' or show them your phone with the location on a map. The journey will take around 10 minutes depending on traffic, and the driver will drop you off at one of the access points along the lake.
