Getting There

  • Walking

    Start from the Bentota Railway Station. Exit the station and turn right onto the main road (Galle Road). Walk straight for about 1.2 kilometers until you reach the junction with the A2 road. At this junction, turn left onto the A2 road. Continue walking for approximately 500 meters until you see a sign for 'Dunkalagewatta'. Turn right onto Dunkalagewatta Road, and after about 300 meters, you will find Fortress de Jayaweera on your left at No 133, Dunkalagewatta.

  • Tuk-tuk

    If you prefer a tuk-tuk, you can easily hire one from anywhere in Bentota. Tell the driver to take you to Fortress de Jayaweera located at No 133, Dunkalagewatta. The journey should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.

  • Bicycle

    If you are renting a bicycle, start at the Bentota Beach area and head towards the main Galle Road. Cycle south along Galle Road for about 1.5 kilometers. Turn left at the junction onto the A2 road and continue for another 500 meters. Look for Dunkalagewatta on your right and turn onto that road. Fortress de Jayaweera will be located about 300 meters down this road on your left.
