Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Kandy, which is a central hub in the Central Province. Head southwest on the A1 highway towards Kadugannawa. Continue on the A1 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach the Kadugannawa area. Look for the landmark '7G28+J47' on your GPS. As you approach Kadugannawa, keep an eye out for Balumgala on your right side. There is limited parking available near the site.
Public Bus
To reach Balumgala by public transportation, take a bus from Kandy to Kadugannawa. Buses leave frequently from the Kandy bus station with a fare of approximately LKR 50-100. Once you arrive at Kadugannawa, disembark at the nearest bus stop and ask locals for directions to Balumgala, as it is a well-known landmark. It's within walking distance from the bus stop, approximately 1 kilometer. Enjoy the scenic walk as you approach your destination.
Tuk-Tuk
If you prefer a more comfortable ride after reaching Kadugannawa, consider hiring a tuk-tuk. You can negotiate a fare with the driver, which typically ranges from LKR 300-600 to reach Balumgala from the bus stop or nearby areas.
