    Getting There

    Car

    If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Kandy, which is approximately 90 km away. Take the A1 highway heading towards Dambulla. Follow the signs for Dambulla and continue straight until you reach the Dambulla town center. From Dambulla, take the A9 road south towards Sigiriya. After about 20 km, you will see signs for Sigiriya. As you enter Sigiriya, look for the entrance to Pidurangala Rock, located just a few kilometers north of the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress. There is a parking area close to the entrance where you can leave your vehicle. Note that there may be a small fee for parking, typically around 200 LKR.

    Public Transportation

    If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Kandy to Dambulla. Buses are frequent and the journey takes about 2.5 hours. Once you arrive in Dambulla, change to a bus heading to Sigiriya. This leg of the journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Upon reaching Sigiriya, you can either walk to Pidurangala Rock, which is about 2 km away, or hire a tuk-tuk for a more convenient ride (costing around 300-400 LKR). Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your tuk-tuk ride.
