Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, head towards Dambulla first as it is a major town in Central Province. From Dambulla, take the A9 road towards Jaffna. After approximately 16 km, you will see signs for Sigiriya. Turn right onto the B2 road, which leads directly to Sigiriya. The fortress will be visible as you approach. Parking is available near the entrance, and there is usually a parking fee of around LKR 300.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    To reach Sigiriya by bus, start at the Dambulla Bus Station. Look for buses heading to Sigiriya, which run frequently throughout the day. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes and costs around LKR 50. Once you arrive at the Sigiriya bus stop, it is a short walk to the entrance of the fortress, following the main road and then turning onto the access road.

  • Tuk-Tuk
