Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in Colombo Fort, head towards the Colombo World Trade Center, which is a prominent landmark. From the World Trade Center, walk down to the Galle Face Green by following the road that runs parallel to the coast. This should lead you directly to Galle Face Beach. The beach is just beyond the green space, and you can enjoy a lovely view of the ocean as you approach.

• Public Bus

  Locate a bus stop that has buses heading towards Galle Face. Buses number 100, 101, or 122 are good options that go through Galle Face. Board one of these buses and inform the conductor you want to get off at Galle Face. The journey will take around 15-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you get off, walk towards the ocean, and you will find yourself at Galle Face Beach.

• Tuk-tuk

  Find a tuk-tuk stand nearby or hail one from the street. Tell the driver you want to go to Galle Face Beach. The drivers are usually familiar with this popular destination. The ride will take approximately 10-20 minutes, depending on your starting location and traffic conditions.

• Bicycle Rental

  Consider renting a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Colombo. Once you have a bike, head towards Galle Road and cycle along the coast. Follow the signs towards Galle Face Beach; it's a straight route that will take about 20-30 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views as you ride along the shoreline.
