G Dinu Colombo Cooking Class Market Tour & Home Style Cuisine
Authentic cooking class with market visit
We were picked up by Dinuka with his TukTuk on time from the hotel and driven to the wholesale market. Then there was a round about the market, all our questions about the exotic fruits and vegetables were answered superbly. Then we drove to his sister's house in a suburb where we cooked together. We prepared various curries, flatbreads and rice in traditional clay pots. Grating the coconuts on a stool with a built-in scraper was a particularly fun experience. All questions about culture and life were also clarified. Afterwards the food was also eaten by us - a treat! Communication ran through WhatsApp, prompt feedback, very good English. Friendly, warm dealings, you felt really comfortable. Everything went on time, the menu was varied, we fully relied on him, but there would certainly have been room for special requests. It was a special experience, which you can highly recommend if you want to get to know the people and food culture of Sri Lanka even more intensively.

We had a great day tour! Our guide was super friendly and very knowledgeable. He tailored the trip around what we were interested in. The trip itself went much longer than 3 hours as he was so happy to show us lots of things.

Tuk tuk food tour
Great tour from start to finish. Our driver Boby was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. He explained what every dish was etc. The food was fantastic and although most dishes had spices in it wasn't overwhelming. Great way to sample Sri Lankan food and I highly recommend it
