Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Slave Island, head towards the main road, Galle Face Road. You can start by walking towards the Sri Lanka Railway Station which is approximately 10-15 minutes away. Once you reach the station, continue straight along Galle Face Road. You will pass several local shops and eateries. Keep walking for about 15 minutes until you see the entrance to Galle Face Green, a large open space that leads directly to Galle Face Sea.

  • Tuk-Tuk

    If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a Tuk-Tuk from anywhere in Slave Island. Just ask the driver to take you to Galle Face Sea or Galle Face Green. The ride should take about 10 minutes and cost around 200-300 LKR. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your ride.

  • Public Bus

    You can also use the public bus system from Slave Island to Galle Face. Look for buses heading towards Colombo Fort or Galle Face. Board the bus at the nearest bus stop. The fare is usually around 20-30 LKR. After about 10-15 minutes, get off at the Galle Face stop, which is a short walk from the sea.
