Start from the Slave Island area and head east on Havelock Road (A4). Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Independence Avenue. This walk is approximately 15-20 minutes depending on your pace. Once you reach Independence Avenue, turn left and walk for about 5 minutes until you see Independence Square on your right.

If you prefer a quicker option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from Slave Island to Independence Square. Negotiate a fare (typically around 300-500 LKR) for a short ride that will take about 5-10 minutes. Just tell the driver to take you to 'Independence Avenue, Colombo'.
