Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Dambulla town. Head north on the Kandy - Jaffna Highway (A9). Continue for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the Rock Temple, which will be on your left. Look for the VJ4X+M93 marker as a reference point. There is usually parking available near the temple.
Public Transportation
To reach Rock Temple by public transport, catch a local bus heading towards Habarana from Dambulla bus station. This route typically takes around 30-40 minutes. Ask the conductor to let you know when you reach Rock Temple, as it's a well-known landmark. Once you get off the bus, the temple is a short walk from the bus stop. Ensure you have small change for the bus fare, which is usually around 50-100 LKR.
Tuk-tuk
For a more personalized experience, you can hire a tuk-tuk from Dambulla. Negotiate a fare beforehand, which should range from 300-500 LKR for a round trip to Rock Temple. The journey will take about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to agree on a pickup time with the driver after your visit.
