Getting There

  • Car

    From Dambulla, take the A9 road heading north. Continue for about 15 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for Sigiriya. Follow the signs towards Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The drive will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you reach Sigiriya, there is a designated parking area near the entrance of the fortress. Parking fees may apply, typically around 300 LKR.

    From Dambulla, head to the Dambulla bus station and look for buses heading to Sigiriya. Buses leave frequently throughout the day, and the journey takes about 30 to 45 minutes. The cost of a one-way ticket is usually around 50 LKR. Make sure to inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at Sigiriya. The bus will drop you off near the entrance of the Sigiriya site.
