If you are driving from Dambulla town, head east on the Dambulla - Habarana Road (A9). After approximately 3 kilometers, you will see a sign for Uththararamaya (Gal Vihara) on your right. Turn right onto the road leading to Nissankamallapura. Continue for about 1 kilometer, and you will arrive at Uththararamaya, which will be on your left. Parking is available nearby.

Public Transportation
From Dambulla town, take a local bus heading towards Habarana. Make sure to inform the conductor that you are going to Uththararamaya (Gal Vihara). The ride should take approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the stop for Nissankamallapura, which will be close to the temple. From there, it's a short walk of about 500 meters to reach the entrance of Uththararamaya.

For a more direct route, you can hire a tuk-tuk from Dambulla. Negotiate the fare beforehand; it should cost around 300-500 LKR for a one-way trip. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Ask the driver to take you to Uththararamaya (Gal Vihara) in Nissankamallapura, and they will drop you off right at the entrance.
