Interesting forest trek with a tremendous guide

Another great day out arranged by Bentota Travel Mart.We opted for the early pick up from Hikkaduwa at 4.30am .Dinesh got us to our guides house at the edge of the forest for about 7.00am. Once again he was very professional and left us to relax and look at the scenery once the sun rose.Our forest guide Ananda gave us coffee and cake before fitting us with leech socks. We left for the forest in his tuk tuk which was a few minutes drive away. He guided us through the forest showing us various reptiles and insects he had spotted through his keen eye!We walked through the forest on made up paths before the terrain became rough paths with tree roots to navigate. My wife does have knee issues ,but with Ananda's help and improvised walking stick,skillfully guided us to the waterfall.i took the opportunity to have a swim and it was so relaxing and quiet ,apart from the tremendous sound of the waterfall. At this point we hadn't encountered anyone else, possibly due to the organised early start! It soon became clear that we started out trek at the best possible time.i could see in the distance various groups we about to join us.so appreciated the quiet relaxing time we had. We returned on the same route we had come,again coming across reptiles and insects. Upon returning to Ananda's house,we were met with a splendid display of food ,cooked by Ananda's wife.The whole day was fantastic and very pleased with our tour and appreciated the fact it was just the two of us and could walk the trek at our own pace.Ananda,was a great guide and Dinesh a very capable driver and professional throughout the long day. Even adding on an hour stop off at Galle on the return journey.

Tangerine Tours with Driver, Roshan Lazarus

Thanks to Tangerine Tours and their GM, Leon for giving me and my family a nice, clean and comfortable large van to tour the island of Sri Lanka with an outstanding driver, Roshan Lazarus. Roshan was kind, helpful, and extremely accommodating. He drove skillfully and navigated the sometimes crowded streets and roads of Colombo, Jaffna, Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Nuwara Eliya and everywhere in between with smooth confidence and made us feel very safe, comfortable and secure as his passengers. Every trip we took was relaxing and enjoyable. Roshan greeted us each morning looking smart and clean and with our vehicle spotless and smelling fresh. He was always very patient and respectful and we enjoyed conversing with him. He gave us educational information about the locations we were visiting and was always willing to stop whenever we needed breaks to eat and stretch our legs or wanted to do extra things like visit family and friends, buy jewelry, clothes, fruits or stop to take pictures of cute monkeys along the way. All our impromptu requests were met with a smile and willingness to please us. This made our vacation extra special. Traveling the island with Roshan felt like being with a close friend we have known all our lives. Thank you Roshan for making our trip to Sri Lanka so enjoyable. You worked so well to keep us happy and comfortable. I am ready to come back to Sri Lanka because we have Roshan and Tangerine Tours. Very grateful and thankful for your help, Roshan.
