Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Galle Fort, exit through the main gate and turn left onto Hospital Street. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Light House Street. Turn right onto Light House Street and continue walking until you see the Galle Lighthouse on your left. From the lighthouse, head towards the main road (Lighthouse Street), then turn left onto the main road. Continue walking for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with the road leading to Dutch Belfry. The Dutch Belfry will be on your right-hand side.

    If you are at Galle's main bus station, exit the station and head east towards the main road (Kahanda Road). Cross the road and continue walking straight for about 1 km. Look for signs directing you to Galle Fort. Once you reach the Fort area, follow the path leading to the ramparts. Walk along the ramparts until you reach the Galle Lighthouse. From the lighthouse, take the main road (Lighthouse Street) and turn left. Walk along the road for about 10 minutes until you find Dutch Belfry on your right.

    If you are near the Galle International Cricket Stadium, exit the stadium and head towards the main road (Galle Road). Turn left and walk straight along the shoreline for about 1.5 km. Look for signs that will guide you to the Galle Fort area. Once you reach the Fort, make your way to the Galle Lighthouse. After visiting the lighthouse, head back towards the main road, turning left onto Lighthouse Street. Continue walking for about 10 minutes until you see Dutch Belfry on your right.
