By Car
If you're driving to Galle Lighthouse, start on the Galle-Matara Main Road (A2) and head towards Galle. Follow the signs for Galle. Once you reach Galle town, look for signs directing you to the Galle Fort area. The lighthouse is located within the fort, at coordinates 6.0245613, 80.2193661. You can park your vehicle at the nearby public parking areas outside the fort, but be aware that there may be parking fees ranging from LKR 100 to LKR 500 depending on the duration. The lighthouse is a short walk from the parking area.

To reach Galle Lighthouse via public transport, you can take a bus from various towns in Southern Province. Buses run frequently from cities like Matara, Ambalangoda, and Hikkaduwa to Galle. Once you arrive at the Galle bus station, exit and walk towards the main road. You will find signs directing you to Galle Fort. It’s about a 15-minute walk from the bus station to the lighthouse.
