Walking
If you are in Hikkaduwa town, start by heading towards the main road (Galle Road). Walk south along this road, passing various shops and eateries. Continue walking for about 18 kilometers, which should take roughly 3-4 hours. As you walk, keep an eye out for local landmarks such as the Hikkaduwa Beach on your right, where you can take a break. Once you reach Galle, look for signs directing you towards the city center, and soon you will arrive at Church Street, located in Galle 80000.
Tuk Tuk
From any point in Hikkaduwa, simply flag down a tuk-tuk (three-wheeled taxi) and ask the driver to take you to Galle. Specify 'Church Street' if you can, but generally, the drivers are familiar with the area. The ride should take around 30 minutes and will cost you approximately 1,500 to 2,000 LKR, depending on your starting point. Enjoy the scenic views during your ride along the coast.
Bus
To reach Galle from Hikkaduwa using public transport, head to the Hikkaduwa bus station, which is situated near the main road. Look for a bus heading to Galle (local buses are frequent, approximately every 15-20 minutes). The bus ride will take about 30-45 minutes. Make sure to inform the conductor that you need to get off at Church Street or near Galle Fort, which is a well-known landmark. Once you get off, you can walk a short distance to Church Street.
