From Hikkaduwa Beach, head east towards the main road (Galle Road). Once you reach the main road, turn left and walk along Galle Road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to the Hikkaduwa Railway Station. You can take a break here if needed. From the railway station, continue walking on Galle Road for another 500 meters. Look out for a small road on your right, which leads into a residential area. Turn right onto this road and follow it for about 300 meters until you see a sign pointing towards Sri Nelumvila Maha Viharaya Temple. The temple will be located about 50 meters ahead on your left.

If you prefer taking a tuk-tuk, hail one from any point in Hikkaduwa. Tell the driver you want to go to Sri Nelumvila Maha Viharaya Temple. The ride should take about 10 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will take you along Galle Road, passing by the Hikkaduwa Railway Station, and will drop you off right at the entrance of the temple.
