Getting There

Walking
From Hikkaduwa town center, head south along the Galle Road (A2). You will see the beach on your left side. Continue walking along the road for about 7 kilometers. You will pass several local shops and small restaurants along the way. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Beruwala. Once you reach the Beruwala area, look for the direction signs that will lead you towards the Barberyn Lighthouse. The lighthouse is located near the coastline, so you will need to take a small path leading toward the water once you see the lighthouse structure in the distance.

Tuk-Tuk
From any location in Hikkaduwa, you can easily find a tuk-tuk by waving one down or asking at your hotel. Tell the driver you want to go to Barberyn Lighthouse in Beruwala. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. The tuk-tuk will take you directly to the lighthouse area, where you can get off close to the entrance.

Public Bus
Take a local bus from Hikkaduwa to Beruwala. You can catch a bus from the main bus stand in Hikkaduwa. Look for buses heading towards Beruwala or Aluthgama. The journey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Beruwala, ask the bus conductor to let you know when you reach the stop nearest to Barberyn Lighthouse. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to the lighthouse, following the coastal path.
