Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Kalpitiya town, head south on Main Street towards the A32 road. Continue straight for about 1.5 km until you reach the intersection with the A32. Turn left onto A32 and follow it for approximately 2 km. Look for a sign indicating the KALPITIYA LAGOON View Point on your right. Turn onto the access road, and after about 500 meters, you will arrive at the parking area near the viewpoint.

• Tuk-Tuk

  For a local experience, you can hire a tuk-tuk from any point in Kalpitiya town. Simply tell the driver you want to go to KALPITIYA LAGOON View Point. The fare typically ranges from 500 to 800 LKR depending on your starting location and negotiation with the driver. The journey will take about 15-20 minutes.

• Public Bus

  Take a public bus from Kalpitiya to the nearest stop along the A32 highway. Buses frequently depart from the main bus stand in Kalpitiya. The fare is typically around 50 LKR. Once you get off at the A32 bus stop, you may need to walk approximately 1 km to reach the viewpoint. Look for local signs or ask locals for directions to find the access road leading to KALPITIYA LAGOON View Point.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, renting a bicycle in Kalpitiya is a great way to explore the area. Head south on Main Street, then take the A32 road. It’s approximately 4 km to the viewpoint, and biking will allow you to enjoy the scenic views along the way. Ensure to wear a helmet and stay hydrated. Bicycle rentals are available for around 500 LKR per day.
