Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving to Wilpattu Green Cabin from the entrance of Wilpattu National Park, head towards the main road that leads to the park's interior. Follow the signs pointing towards Wilpattu National Park. After entering the park, continue straight for approximately 10 kilometers. Look for the marker '7VC9+CPR, Unnamed Road' on your GPS or map application, as this is the specific location of the Wilpattu Green Cabin. The cabin is located off the main road, so keep an eye out for any unmarked roads leading into the forest.

• Public Transportation

  If you are taking public transportation, first make your way to Anuradhapura, which is the nearest major city. From Anuradhapura, you can take a bus or a tuk-tuk to the entrance of Wilpattu National Park. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you will need to hire a private vehicle or a safari jeep to reach the Wilpattu Green Cabin, as public transport does not operate within the park. Be prepared to negotiate the fare with the driver, and expect costs to be around 3000-5000 LKR for the journey to the cabin, depending on the distance and time required.

• Walking

  If you are already within Wilpattu National Park, you may choose to walk to Wilpattu Green Cabin if you are feeling adventurous and it is safe to do so. Ensure you are aware of your surroundings and do not wander off the main trails. The cabin is approximately 3 kilometers from the main road within the park. However, consider the potential wildlife and terrain before attempting this.
