Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Kalutara town. Head east on the A2 road towards Horana. After approximately 6 km, turn left onto the Wellatha Road (also known as Thudugala Road). Follow this road for about 1.5 km until you reach Thudugala Ella, which is located on your left. There is a small parking area available near the site.
Public Transportation
To reach Thudugala Ella using public transportation, take a local bus from Kalutara town heading towards Horana. The bus fare is around LKR 30-50. Ask the conductor to drop you off at the Wellatha Road junction. From there, you can either walk approximately 1.5 km (about 20 minutes) along Wellatha Road to Thudugala Ella or hire a three-wheeler (tuk-tuk) for about LKR 200-300 to take you directly to the site.
Three-Wheeler (Tuk-Tuk)
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a three-wheeler (tuk-tuk) from any location in Kalutara. This is a convenient option, especially if you are traveling in a group. The fare from Kalutara town to Thudugala Ella will typically range from LKR 800-1200, depending on your starting point and negotiation with the driver.
