Tuk-Tuk
From the Kandy City Center, head towards the main road and find a tuk-tuk stand. Negotiate a fare to Pinnawala Zoo, which is approximately 30 kilometers away. The ride will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour. The driver will know the way, and they often take the B199 road, which is the main route to the zoo.
Bus
Walk to the Kandy Central Bus Stand, which is located near the city center. Look for buses heading to Rambukkana or Pinnawala. The bus fare is very affordable (around 50 LKR), and the journey will take about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Rambukkana Bus Station, tell the conductor or driver you want to go to Pinnawala Zoo. You may need to take a short tuk-tuk ride from the bus station to the zoo entrance, which is about 3 kilometers away.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous and are staying nearby, you can walk to Pinnawala Zoo. From the city center, head towards the B199 road and follow it for approximately 8 kilometers. The walk will take around 2 to 2.5 hours, so ensure you wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated. Along the way, enjoy the local scenery and take in the sights of Kandy.
