We travelled through Sri Lanka for 21 days with a driver from Nature Caves Sri Lanka, and we look back on this experience with immense gratitude. From the very beginning, we felt we could fully rely on both our driver Rumesh and the company. Months before our trip, we already had smooth and reliable email communication to carefully plan our itinerary together. Rumesh was punctual, dependable, and always thought along with us. We had travelled quite a bit independently in previous years, but as this was our first big adventure together with our children, we were looking for that extra level of comfort and security. We absolutely found that — without losing our sense of freedom. Whenever something needed to be arranged, Rumesh took care of it spontaneously, while always giving us the space to make our own choices and follow our own pace. We had a clear agreement about the total price and were able to pay this in two instalments directly to the driver. After each payment, we immediately received a correct confirmation from the company via WhatsApp. Rumesh speaks excellent English, is very kind (also with our children), and helped us gain a much deeper understanding of Sri Lanka, its people, and its culture. We truly appreciated his flexibility, patience, and solution-oriented attitude. Our youngest daughter has dietary restrictions, and Rumesh spontaneously helped us find safe and suitable food and snack options for her. His presence never felt intrusive — quite the opposite: he was a calm, friendly, and pleasant companion throughout our journey. We deliberately chose a slower-paced itinerary, with more rest days in between, adapted to travelling with children. Both the company and Rumesh understood this perfectly and supported our choices. Amazing Tuk-Tuk Tour in Kandy!

We had an absolutely brilliant day exploring Kandy with our driver and guide, Athula. From the moment we started, he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The tuk-tuk was a fun way to see the city. He explained so many things about the local culture, history, and the sights we visited—we learned more in a few hours than we expected! He was patient, answered all our questions, and was very flexible, making sure we saw everything we wanted at our own pace. It felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a friendly local.

Thushan is more than a driver When booking with Thushan, I expected to have someone who would drive me around to the destinations I had in mind. However, he consistently exceeded any expectations I had by being extremely proactive when proposing different activities. There were many times I was impressed. Three come to my mind now: The first day in Sri Lanka I sent him what we wanted to do the next day. He quickly answered that it was fine for him, but suggested that, if we woke up a bit earlier, we would have time to go to a turtle sanctuary. This was completely outside of my radar, but it seemed nice so we said yes. It was an incredible experience that we would have missed had it not been because of Thushan. The second time was when taking the train from Ella to Nuna Oya. We had our train tickets in advance, but it is usually better to have them printed. I told him we could go a bit earlier to get them printed. Then, the night before he randomly messages me telling me he already printed them himself, and to not worry. His constant willingness to always do a bit more for your comfort is incredible, and I’m extremely thankful to him for it. Finally, when booking the safari, he suggested not taking the one from the hotel but one he knew personally. This proved to be a great decision as the driver we got was notably better than many others we saw. This gave us some memories we will never forget. Thushan is extremely professional and punctual; we never had to wait for him at any time. Also, his experience an local knowledge proves very valuable when visiting Sri Lanka.
