If you are driving from Kegalle, head east on the A1 road towards Nuwara Eliya. After approximately 23 kilometers, take the exit towards the B40 road. Continue on the B40 road for about 10 kilometers. Keep an eye out for a junction where you will turn left onto a smaller road that leads towards Mahagasthota. Follow this road for about 5 kilometers, and you will find Ancient Sluice (පැරණි සොරොව්ව) approximately 300 meters off the main road. There is limited parking available nearby.

To reach Ancient Sluice (පැරණි සොරොව්ව) using public transport, take a bus from Kegalle to Nuwara Eliya. The buses are frequent and the fare is typically around 100 LKR. Once you arrive at Nuwara Eliya, you can take a tuk-tuk to Mahagasthota, which will cost around 300-400 LKR. Inform the driver that you want to visit Ancient Sluice, and they will drop you off at the closest point, from which it’s about a 300-meter walk to the site.
