If you are traveling by car in Kilinochchi District, head towards the main road leading out of the city center. Look for the signs directing you towards the A9 highway. Once on the A9 highway, drive north for approximately 10 kilometers. After passing through several small villages, keep an eye out for signs indicating Murippu Kulam. You will need to take a left turn onto a small road leading towards the reservoir, which is situated at GPS coordinates 9.3590756, 80.3533365. There is a small parking area near the entrance of the reservoir.

To reach Murippu Kulam via public transportation, start by taking a local bus from the Kilinochchi bus terminal. Look for buses heading towards the northern villages along the A9 highway. The fare is usually around 50 LKR ($0.25 USD). Inform the bus driver that you wish to get off at Murippu Kulam. The bus will drop you off near the intersection where you will see a sign for Murippu Kulam. From there, walk approximately 1 kilometer down the small road towards the reservoir. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the path may be uneven.
