If you are traveling by car from Kitulgala, take the A7 highway towards Kegalle. After approximately 7 kilometers, look for a sign indicating Bulathkohupitiya-Dedugala Road. Turn left onto this road and continue for about 5 kilometers until you reach Rukmal Ella Falls. There is a small parking area near the entrance where you can leave your car.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can catch a bus from Kitulgala towards Kegalle. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Bulathkohupitiya-Dedugala Road. From there, you may need to walk approximately 5 kilometers along this road to reach Rukmal Ella Falls. Alternatively, you can look for a local tuk-tuk to take you directly to the falls from the junction, which may cost around 500 LKR.
Walking
If you are already in Kitulgala and prefer walking, you can head towards the A7 highway and follow the same route mentioned for cars. Keep in mind that walking to the falls will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, so be prepared with water and sun protection. Once you reach Bulathkohupitiya-Dedugala Road, follow it for another 5 kilometers to reach Rukmal Ella Falls.
