Getting There

Car

If you are traveling by car from Kurunegala city center, head southwest on the A6 road towards the town of Kurunegala. After approximately 1 km, turn left onto the Maho-Kurunegala Road (B294). Continue on this road for about 4 km. As you approach the outskirts of Kurunegala, you will see signs for Athugala Rock. Follow the signs and take the road leading to the rock, which is about 2 km away from the main road. There is a small parking area available near the base of the rock.
Public Transportation

From Kurunegala bus station, take a local bus heading towards Maho. Inform the bus conductor that you are heading to Athugala Rock. The fare is usually around LKR 50. The bus will drop you off near the entrance road to Athugala Rock. From there, you will have to walk approximately 2 km to reach the base of the rock. Be prepared for a bit of a trek as the path can be uneven.
Taxi

For a more comfortable option, you can hire a taxi from Kurunegala city.
