Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from Kurunegala city center and head northwest on the A6 road towards Chilaw. Continue for about 30 km until you reach the town of Chilaw. As you enter Chilaw, look for signs for 'Maha Devalayam' and turn onto the Chilaw - Wariyapola Road (A4). The Sri Munneswaram Kovil will be on your right-hand side after approximately 2 km. There is parking available near the temple, but it may have a small fee, so be prepared for that.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    From Kurunegala, head to the main bus terminal and take a bus heading towards Chilaw. Buses are frequent and the journey takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Chilaw, you can either take a tuk-tuk or walk to the temple. The temple is about 2 km from the bus station. If walking, head southeast on the Chilaw - Wariyapola Road (A4) until you reach the temple.
