Getting There

Walking
From the center of Mirissa, head towards the beach and take the main road (Matara - Colombo Main Road). Walk along the beachside until you reach the Mirissa Beach. Continue walking past the beach area and follow the road that leads towards Weligama. After approximately 1 km of walking, you will reach a fork in the road. Keep to the left and continue straight. You will pass local shops and eateries. Keep walking for another 1.5 km until you see the sign for Palena Beach on your right. Follow the path that leads down to the beach.

Tuk-tuk
From any point in Mirissa, you can easily find a tuk-tuk. Simply tell the driver 'Palena Beach' or show them the location on your phone. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes. The driver will take you along the Matara - Colombo Main Road towards Weligama. Once you approach Weligama, they will turn onto the road leading to Palena Beach. You can enjoy the scenic views of the coastline along the way.

Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Mirissa. Start by heading towards the main road (Matara - Colombo Main Road). Cycle along the coastal road towards Weligama. Stay on the left side of the road and continue for about 2.5 km. When you see the sign for Palena Beach on your right, take the turn and follow the path down to the beach. This route is relatively flat and offers beautiful views of the ocean.
