Getting There

Tuk-Tuk

From your location in Negombo, find a nearby tuk-tuk stand or hail a tuk-tuk from the street. Inform the driver you want to go to the Colombo National Museum. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic. The driver will take you through the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway, which is the fastest route. Once you reach Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha, the museum will be on your left side. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off right at the entrance.
Bus

Head to the Negombo bus station, which is located near the center of the town. Look for a bus heading to Colombo; these buses often have signs displayed on the front. The journey to Colombo will take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Colombo bus terminal, you will need to take a local bus or a tuk-tuk to reach the Colombo National Museum. If taking a tuk-tuk, show the driver the museum's address: WV56+X9R, Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha, and they will take you there directly.
Train

Make your way to the Negombo Railway Station, which is located in the center of town. Board a train heading towards Colombo Fort station. The train ride will take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at Colombo Fort station, exit the station and find a tuk-tuk or a bus to Sir Marcus Fernando Mawatha. If you choose a tuk-tuk, provide the driver with the museum's address. The museum will be a short ride from the station.
