From Negombo, head to the main bus terminal located at the center of the town. Look for buses heading towards Colombo or Kotte. Take the bus that states it’s going to Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte. The journey should take about 45 minutes to an hour. Once you reach the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte bus station, exit the bus and walk towards B240 road. Diyatha Uyana is a short walk from there; just follow the signs or ask a local for directions.
Tuk-Tuk
Find a tuk-tuk stand in Negombo or flag down a tuk-tuk on the street. Negotiate the fare before getting in. Tell the driver you want to go to Diyatha Uyana, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte. The ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Just relax and enjoy the ride as the driver navigates through the city and into Kotte.
Walking
If you are staying near the coastal area in Negombo, you can walk towards the main road (B208). Once you reach the main road, look for a bus stop where you can catch a bus to Kotte. This option is best if you enjoy walking, as it may take you roughly 1.5 to 2 hours to reach Diyatha Uyana on foot. Make sure to carry water and wear comfortable shoes.
