If you are in the center of Negombo, start at the Negombo Fish Market. From there, head east on Lewis Place. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with the Colombo – Negombo Main Road (A3). Cross the road and continue straight onto Unnamed Road. Walk for about 1.5 kilometers along this road until you reach a small boat dock. Winson Island is located just off this dock.

Once you reach the small boat dock, look for local fishermen or boat operators who can take you to Winson Island. The boat ride is short, usually taking around 10-15 minutes. Make sure to negotiate the price before getting on the boat.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Negombo. Start from the Negombo Fish Market and follow the same route as if you were walking, but on a bicycle. Once you reach the boat dock, you can park your bicycle and take a boat to Winson Island.

For a more convenient option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Negombo. Tell the driver to take you to the nearest boat dock to Winson Island, which is located along Unnamed Road. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic. Once at the dock, catch a boat to the island.
