Getting There

• Public Bus

  To get to the center of Negombo from any location, head to the nearest bus stop. Look for buses heading towards Negombo Town. The bus fare is very affordable (around 50 LKR). Buses run frequently, approximately every 15-30 minutes. Once on the bus, inform the conductor that you want to get off at Negombo Town. The bus will take you through various local areas, and you'll arrive at the main bus station in Negombo.

• Tuk-Tuk

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a tuk-tuk. Simply wave one down from the street or ask your hotel to call one for you. Negotiate the fare before getting in; a typical ride within Negombo should cost between 200 to 500 LKR depending on the distance. Provide the driver with your destination, and they will take you directly there, navigating through the local streets.

• Walking

  If you are staying close to the center of Negombo, walking is a great option to explore the area. Use a map application on your phone for guidance. As you walk, head towards the beach area or the main commercial streets like Lewis Place and St. Anthony's Church.
