If you are driving from Anuradhapura, take the A9 highway south. After approximately 45 minutes, look for the Mihintale exit (signs will indicate Mihintale). Turn onto the road leading to Mihintale, which is about 10 km from the highway. Follow the road signs leading to Mihintale. Upon arrival, you will find parking areas near the entrance. Keep in mind there may be a parking fee, typically around 100 LKR.

From Anuradhapura, head to the main bus station and look for buses heading to Mihintale. Buses typically leave every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes and costs approximately 30 LKR. Once you arrive at the Mihintale bus station, it is a short walk to the entrance of the Mihintale complex. Follow the signs, and be prepared for a bit of an uphill trek to reach the main sights.

Tuk-Tuk
If you prefer a more personalized experience, you can hire a tuk-tuk from Anuradhapura to Mihintale. Negotiate the fare beforehand; it should cost around 800-1000 LKR for a round trip. The tuk-tuk will take you directly to the entrance of Mihintale, where you can explore at your leisure.
