If you’re driving, start from Kurunegala, the nearest major city. Head north on the A6 highway towards the town of Maho. After approximately 20 km, look for the signs leading to Kumbukwewa. Take the exit for Kumbukwewa and continue straight for about 10 km. Once you enter Kumbukwewa, follow the signs to Arankale Buddhist Monastery. The entrance to the monastery will be on your left. Parking is usually available near the entrance.

To reach Arankale Buddhist Monastery via public transport, first take a bus from Kurunegala to Maho from the Kurunegala bus stand. The journey takes about 30 minutes and costs around LKR 50. After reaching Maho, transfer to a local bus heading towards Kumbukwewa. This part of the trip will take an additional 20 minutes and cost approximately LKR 30. Once you arrive in Kumbukwewa, you can either walk (it’s about 1 km) or take a tuk-tuk to the monastery. Tuk-tuk fares are usually around LKR 150-200.
