If you are in the central area of Nuwara Eliya, start by heading towards the famous Nuwara Eliya Post Office. From there, walk down towards the main street, and continue straight until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left fork which leads you onto the Upper Lake Road. Follow this road for approximately 1 kilometer, enjoying the views of the lush greenery. Keep an eye out for signposts directing you to Lake Gregory. As you approach the lake, you will notice the entrance to the park area on your right.

For a more convenient option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Nuwara Eliya. Simply tell the driver 'Lake Gregory' or show them the location on a map. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will take you directly to the entrance of the lake area. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Nuwara Eliya. Start at the city center and head towards the Nuwara Eliya Post Office. From there, follow the same route as the walking directions. Riding along Upper Lake Road is quite scenic and will take around 15-20 minutes to reach Lake Gregory. Be cautious of the traffic, especially as you approach the lake.
