Walking
From Polonnaruwa town, head north on Parakrama Samudra Mawatha road. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum. Enter the museum premises and continue walking straight towards the ruins of the ancient city. Follow the signs leading to Hatadage, which is located near the Sacred Quadrangle.
Cycling
Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Polonnaruwa town. Head north on Parakrama Samudra Mawatha road and cycle for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum. Park your bicycle outside the museum and continue on foot towards the ruins of the ancient city. Follow the signs leading to Hatadage, located near the Sacred Quadrangle.
Tuk-tuk
Hire a tuk-tuk from Polonnaruwa town and ask the driver to take you to the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum. Once you reach the museum, alight from the tuk-tuk and walk towards the ruins of the ancient city. Follow the signs leading to Hatadage, which is located near the Sacred Quadrangle.
