Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards the Puttalam town center. From there, take the A12 highway heading towards Anuradhapura. After approximately 10 kilometers, look for the sign for the Aiyanar ancient temple, which is located at the junction marked by 2R8P+V3M in Google Maps. The temple is situated a short distance from the main road. You can park your vehicle along the roadside near the temple entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Aiyanar ancient temple by public transportation, take a bus from Puttalam town to Anuradhapura on the A12 route. Inform the bus conductor that you wish to get off at the Aiyanar temple junction. The fare is typically around LKR 50-100. Once you disembark, walk a short distance to the temple which will be visible from the junction.
Walking
If you are already near the Aiyanar temple junction, you can simply walk to the temple. From the junction, head towards the direction of the temple sign which is about a 5-minute walk. The path is straightforward and you will be able to see the temple from a distance.
