Getting There

  • Car

    From the center of Ratnapura, head northwest on Main Street (A4). Continue straight for about 3 kilometers. Look for the signpost indicating Nilminipura on your left. Turn left onto the road leading to Nilminipura and continue for approximately 5 kilometers. You will see a sign for Thepulangoda Waterfall. Turn left at the sign and follow the dirt road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the waterfall parking area.

  • Public Transportation

    Start at the Ratnapura bus station and take a bus to Nilminipura. Buses to Nilminipura run frequently and the fare is approximately 50 LKR. Once you arrive at Nilminipura, you can either walk or hire a tuk-tuk to reach Thepulangoda Waterfall. If walking, head northwest on the main road for about 2 kilometers, then look for the sign directing you to the waterfall. The tuk-tuk fare should be around 200 LKR. After reaching the waterfall parking area, a short walk will take you to the waterfall itself.

    If you prefer a more direct approach, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Ratnapura.
